If you're having trouble fitting a common switch in your FR4 plate, please try the following:
Most likely your plate + PCB combo isn't seated properly on the bottom case. Please make sure the cutouts on the plate line up to the screw posts on the bottom case.
Make sure the USB port is properly aligned with the cutout on the bottom case.
When the plate + PCB combo is seated properly it'll be difficult to move around.
Try side loading the json file for your PCB. You can find the json files in Firmware and Files
Open VIA -> Design tab -> click on Load
If that doesn't solve the issue, try re-flashing the firmware as well. You can find out how to do this in Tips and Tricks
Please contact support if none of the steps above fixed the issue.
The Fn key will not show up in any key tester. If any other particular key doesn't appear to work, please try the following:
1 - Make sure your switch pins are straight.
2 - If it's a split modifier key, make sure the split is enabled in VIA. Find out how to do this in how-to-use-via
3 - For hot-swap PCBs, check the hot-swap socket and the corresponding diode at the back of the PCB to see if there is any visible damage. Use a pair of tweezers to touch the socket and diode and see if it shows up in a key tester.
If that doesn't seem to work and you're familiar with basic soldering, then you can fix this yourself with the spare sockets and diodes included in the Aurora packaging.
Please don't hesitate to contact support if you are not familiar with soldering or have a question.
There's a rare bug where a modifier cannot be re-assigned after being split into two keys and back.
For example, if you split the right shift key into "A" and "B"
Then cancel the split and assign "Right Shift" to the single key, it still registers "A" when you press it.
Solution:
Alternatively you can re-flash the firmware using QMK Toolbox to avoid using the workaround. Make sure you clear the EEPROM before flashing.
